Devious Journal Entry

Journal Entry: Mon Jan 28, 2008, 9:04 AM
News

Trimming down my watch list, now I'm just watching my watchers and a few clubs, has been a really good thing for me. Now I don't feel like I'm drowning in messages every time I log on and I get to comment on more arts :)

As I can't find my Photoshop or Painter cds I've downloaded 2 free art programs to try on my laptop, GIMP 2 and Artweaver. I've never used either of them before but I do know of quite a few people who do their digital art with GIMP so I figure I'll give it a try.

And I've got the beading bug again, I picked up a magazine the other day which came with a pretty good selection of beads and jewellery findings. My mum likes me playing with beads as she always gets free earings out of it :D And it was pretty good timing really, there was a Gem n' Bead show over at Chepstow racecourse at the weekend so I was able to pick up some supplies from there.

Scrap Dragons

The Scrap Dragons are available to adopt for £5 (+ postage, £1.09 UK, £1.19 EU, £1.58 US) each. I only accept payment via PayPal for outside the UK.

Currently for sale:

I am unable to take commissions for custom character/fursona dragons at the moment, sorry, but if you want to see a scrap dragon in the certain colour let me know and I'll see if I can find some material to match.

I had to cut down my watchers to, it was just getting too much. And have fun beading! I love doing it too.

I need to cut down on who I watch as well, but I hate doing so because there are so many awesome artist out there!

As for GIMP, I've heard it's a very well art program to use. It's pretty much the Linux version of Photoshop, since Linux can't support Windows software. I've only tried it out once, so I personally can't give you any tidbits. I prefer to stick with my openCanvas more than anything.

Beads! I loved working with them when I was younger! Not so much anymore since I have so much art to do, but it's still fun every once in awhile. Since I started working with Sculpey clay, I've actually made a few made crafted beads. Those are a treat for any hemp necklace or what-not. Anyway, best of luck creating!

I had to force myself to do it, but I do feel better knowing I have the time to comment on my watcher's artwork :)

I hated doing so too. I know I'm missing out on some great artwork but I felt bad that I just didn't have the time to view and comment on the art of my watchers. I could do with an option which lets me view my watchers deviations first and then, if I have time, other people's stuff. On the upside, I've had chance to give the DoDA entries a proper look :D

I really need to follow lead and do the same since I'm still averaging 1,500 messages a week. Where's the stop button in life when we need it most. :D

yeah, i cut down my watches too, just so mant and most did do any artwork worth commenting or hardly any journals. i had GIMP before, dosen't have all the features as photoshop does, but still for simple drawings.

I have GIMP, and it works really well, as long as you know all the little tricks. *Rhodea also has it, and it's amazing all the stuff she can do with it!
